Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Research Pathways, an enterprise program enabling clinicians to fulfill advanced-degree research requirements while advancing their careers within the organization.

The role oversees intake, readiness, planning, approvals, and governance, coordinating with mentors, academic institutions, and business units to remove barriers and foster a structured, scalable experience for diverse healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in public health, epidemiology, health services research, clinical research, pharmacy, nursing, life sciences, healthcare administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in clinical research, health services research, real-world evidence, research administration, research training, or evidence-generation programs with program or project management responsibility.
• Experience refining research questions, study design, protocol development, data-source planning, analysis planning, interpretation, and dissemination.
• Knowledge of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research approaches and assessment of methods for research questions.
• Experience reviewing research protocols, proposals, analytic plans, data-collection tools, figures, posters, manuscripts for rigor and accuracy.
• Experience applying research-governance requirements, IRB processes, human-subject protections, GCP, privacy, publication governance, and quality control.
• Ability to guide clinicians in translating degree requirements into feasible, well-governed research projects.
• Experience managing programs with intake, oversight, approvals, documentation, milestones, issue escalation, and outcome reporting.
• Ability to coordinate clinicians, leaders, mentors, academic institutions, analysts, and enterprise reviewers with clear accountability.
• Strong scientific writing, critical appraisal, project management, facilitation, communication, judgment, and attention to detail in a matrixed environment.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage Research Pathways as an enterprise talent-development and research-support program.
• Enable clinicians and eligible colleagues to fulfill advanced-degree research requirements while building careers at CVS Health.
• Provide a clear participant journey from inquiry to program completion, including onboarding and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate research oversight and governance, including approvals, documentation, privacy, and publication requirements.
• Engage with participants, people leaders, mentors, academic institutions, and enterprise reviewers to align requirements with opportunities.
• Build scalable processes, templates, dashboards, and resources to support expansion across clinical populations.
• Measure participant experience, program reach, milestone progression, completion, and retention-related outcomes.
• Complete other duties as directed by CED leadership.
