Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Manager, Complex Claims to oversee a dedicated complex claims unit within the Finance & Insurance space. Remote position for US-based candidates, with responsibility for high-quality claim handling, customer service excellence, and technical leadership.

You will manage settlements, budgeting, and process improvements to drive results and service outcomes. The role requires strong leadership of complex claims specialists, trend analysis, and experience in litigation

Qualifications

• Strong leadership to guide complex claims specialists
• Exceptional interpersonal and management skills
• Experience analyzing reports and conducting trend analysis
• Deep experience in litigation management, including defenses and negligence laws
• Broad understanding of state negligence law and various legal doctrines
• Substantial jury trial and appellate court experience in civil matters
• Proficiency in complex coverage analysis and large loss evaluations, with strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate claims activities within the unit to uphold high customer service and technical standards
• Ensure claims are settled promptly and meet department closing ratio standards
• Prepare and oversee the operating budget, controlling expenses effectively
• Implement procedural changes and stay current on relevant work production changes
• Maintain authority to authorize settlements and recommend actions for high-stakes claims
• Monitor loss ratio and productivity metrics to ensure adherence to standards
• Conduct performance management activities and set objectives aligned with business goals
