Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering – Android & Device Platforms based in the United States.

This remote leadership role shapes engineering across a diverse portfolio of connected-device products in a healthcare technology environment. Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering experience, with at least 2 years leading engineers or teams.
• Recent hands-on experience writing production code and reviewing PRs within past 1–2 years.
• Strong Android development experience using Kotlin and modern Android practices.
• Experience with AOSP, customized Android ROMs, kiosk-mode devices, APK distribution, or OS upgrade programs.
• Proficiency in Java in addition to Kotlin; exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Experience building software for connected, remotely deployed devices and managing device fleets.
• Familiarity with backend services (Kotlin/JVM, Node.js, microservices) and cloud APIs.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and promoting their adoption.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across Product, Design, Architecture, and Engineering.
• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent professional experience; healthcare/device platforms experience is a plus.
• Coding assessment likely part of interview process.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery across multiple device-focused product areas and teams.
• Develop and coach senior engineers and ICs, including hiring and performance management.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to production code when needed.
• Establish engineering best practices for quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering practices and adoption of new tools.
• Coordinate priorities across at least three product areas with different tech stacks.
• Participate in architecture reviews and governance for device platforms.
• Align engineering work with product priorities and customer needs.
• Oversee blended teams of onshore/offshore staff; manage staffing and resources.
• Guide deployments for remotely managed devices, including staged releases and diagnostics.
