Job summary

Rocket Software is seeking a Mainframe Modernization Senior Consultant to lead infrastructure, application, and process modernization projects across the United States in a remote setting. The role emphasizes cloud-native approaches, DevOps discipline, and delivering digital transformation for customers.

Ideal candidates have 5-7 years of IT experience, strong communication skills, and hands-on Rocket Enterprise Server and Enterprise Developer experience, including COBOL, CICS/IMS, and cloud

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant technical experience.
• Excellent communication / customer service skills / confident telephone manner
• Proactive and able to work under pressure
• Experience in complex IT project implementations, customizations and or maintenance
• Must have an analytical mind set to analyze test result and facilitate defect resolution
• Organized and methodical, dealing with numerous tasks.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Works on complex project scope with minimal direction from customer/ SI nominated representatives to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Contributes to design for specific deliverables and assists in the deployment Rocket products.
• Contribute to implement new solutions under the direction of Delivery Architects.
• Uses and contributes to technical forums within the Rocket Enterprise Suite environment.
• Applies own subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common technical issues.
• Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.
• Communicates project status and risks to project technical lead and PM.
• Uses technical experience to give customer sound technical advice.
• Determine if change is a product defect or enhancement before communicating to customer.
• Participates as part of a team and maintains good relationships with team members and customers.
