Job summary

Rocket Software Inc. in the USA is seeking a Mainframe Modernization Solutions Architect to analyze, design, and implement modernization strategies for customers’ mainframe and legacy systems.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, establish patterns, and guide migrations to Hybrid Cloud and Cloud‑Native APIs using OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and Rocket portfolio tools.

The role demands senior technical skill, fluent English, travel willingness, and a commitment to Rocket values.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4–10 years of experience leading customers with mainframe modernization initiatives.
• Experience leading customers with mainframe modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of major Cloud Provider infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience analyzing on-prem mainframe environments to plan modernization workloads.
• Certifications such as AWS Solution Architect Professional, Azure Solution Architect, SAFe, etc.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
• Experience leading migrations from Mainframe to Rocket Enterprise Server platform across Infrastructure, Application, and Process modernization.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, high availability solutions built on Rocket Enterprise Portfolio.
• Lead technical teams with customer business, development and infra groups.
• Create and conduct PoC technology analyses and pilots.
• Present to customers and train peers internally.
• Enable partners with Rocket modernization approach and methodology.
• Provide architectural guidance to promote successful engagements worldwide.
• Create blogs, whitepapers, and technical presentations for conferences.
