Job summary

Rocket Software is seeking a Customer Solutions Engineer to deliver technical solutions for mainframe modernization and digital transformation. The Senior Consultant will lead technical delivery, guide teams, and ensure architectures meet customer requirements.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, client-facing engagements, and deep technical expertise across COBOL, CICS/IMS/JCL, and modern cloud/infrastructure in a remote-capable US environment.

Qualifications

5-7 years of relevant technical experience.
Excellent communication / customer service skills with a confident telephone manner.
Proactive and able to work under pressure.
Experience in complex IT project implementations, customizations and/or maintenance.
Analytical mindset to analyze test results and facilitate defect resolution.
Organized and methodical, capable of handling numerous tasks.
Fluent in written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

Provide services to customers (75%).
Work on complex project scope with minimal direction from customer/SI nominated representatives.
Contribute to design for specific deliverables and assist in deploying Rocket products.
Contribute to implement new solutions under the direction of Delivery Architects.
Create proof of concept / proof of value technology analyses and pilots.
Conduct external and internal technical presentations/trainings to peer groups.
Use and contribute to technical forums within Rocket AMC and local communities.
Apply subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of technical issues.
Exercise independent judgment within defined practices to determine appropriate action.
Participate as part of a team and maintain relationships with team members and customers.
Lead a team and communicate project status and risks to stakeholders.
