Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Remote Mainframe Modernization Senior Architect in the United States. This expert technology consultant will lead modernization strategies, engage executives, and collaborate across sales, consulting, and product teams to deliver large‑scale migration programs and modernize legacy systems.

The role requires deep mainframe experience, broad tech stack knowledge, and the ability to drive transformation initiatives with minimal business disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer sciences.
• 20+ years of experience as an architect or equivalent in the hosting and network space (preferably with a service provider).
• Over 12 years’ experience as a Modernization or Migration Architect, leading legacy system upgrades to new platforms with minimal business disruption.
• Hands‑on experience with Mainframe Application migration and legacy modernization projects.
• 15+ years of experience with strong expertise across the mainframe technology stack, including COBOL, Natural, Adabas, Easytrieve, Db2, IMS, JCL, CICS, VSAM, RACF, z/OS, PL/I, and Assembler.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Consulting to create Pursuit, Solution, and Sales strategies for large existing global clients.
• Conduct discovery and assessment workshops to drive deeper client penetration.
• Develop and document solutions meeting technical and business requirements for transformation and re-platforming.
• Conduct solution development sessions and present technical solutions and business cases.
• Gain executive buy‑in for complex solutions through executive technology discussions.
• Position Ensono as trusted advisor with technology know‑how and past experiences.
• Align with Product Management to drive product enhancements and roadmap changes.
• Drive stability and innovation for client states with available product offerings.
