Job summary

Ensono is seeking an Expert Technology Consultant - Mainframe Modernization Senior Architect to lead complex modernization initiatives for global clients. You will guide pursuit strategies, conduct discovery workshops, and document transformative solutions across COBOL, CICS, z/OS, and modern Java/.NET stacks.

You’ll partner with sales, consulting, and product teams, win executive buy‑in, and shape roadmaps while leveraging cloud and AI concepts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer sciences.
20+ years of experience as an architect or equivalent in the hosting and network space (preferably with a service provider).
Over 12 years' experience as a Modernization or Migration Architect, leading legacy system upgrades to new platforms with minimal business disruption.
Hands-on experience with Mainframe Application migration and legacy modernization projects.
15+ years of experience with strong expertise across the mainframe technology stack, including COBOL, Natural, Adabas, Easytrieve, Db2, IMS, JCL, CICS, VSAM, RACF, z/OS, PL/I, and Assembler.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with their counterparts in the Sales and Consulting organizations to create Pursuit, Solution, and Sales strategies for large existing global clients
Conduct discovery and assessment workshops (often in collaboration with resources from consulting, operations and product teams) to help drive further penetration of the client account
Develop and document solutions that meet client’s (technical and business) requirements and allow them to adapt to changing industry needs with a focus on transformation and re-platform efforts
Conduct solution development sessions and present technical solutions and business cases to a wide variety of audience
Gain executives buy in for complex solutions by engaging in executive and senior-level technology discussions
Gain clients’ confidence as a trusted advisor by offering consultation and recommendations drawing from technology know-how and past experiences
Align and partner with Product Management to help drive appropriate product enhancements and changes to technology roadmap
Aid in driving stability and innovation within the client’s current and future state and create solutions based on client requirements and available product offerings
