Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support core banking applications in a remote-friendly US environment. You will work with COBOL, JCL, VSAM and related tools to design, develop, test and maintain critical banking systems.

You will collaborate with business analysts and testers, handle batch processing, participate in deployments, and contribute to production support. Prior banking domain experience and knowledge of Endevor, Xpediter and Easytrieve are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mainframe app development using COBOL, JCL, VSAM and batch processing.
• Experience in core banking modules: Deposits, Loans, Customer/Account, GL and Tax.
• Familiar with Endevor, Xpediter and Easytrieve; CICS/IMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe apps for core banking.
• Analyze requirements and translate into mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM.
• Participate in code reviews, SIT/UAT support and deployments.
