Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support core banking systems across Deposits, Loans, Customer/Account Management, General Ledger, and Tax applications. The role requires deep COBOL-based mainframe expertise, batch processing, and banking domain knowledge.

Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications, analyzing requirements, and delivering robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on mainframe development in COBOL/JCL/VSAM and batch processing.
• Experience with core banking modules such as Deposits, Loans, and GL/Tax systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications for core banking operations.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into mainframe solutions.
• Develop and support batch jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, testers, and stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, SIT/UAT, and deployment activities.
