Job summary

Peraton is seeking a COBOL/CICS/FOCUS Micro-FOCUS Software Developer for the DJMS project, with experience in COBOL, JCL, and FOCUS on IBM mainframes. This role supports the DJMS program under the DFAS account and is 100% remote.

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Public Trust. Responsibilities include directing multi-team software efforts, planning project milestones, and staying ahead of technology trends to inform decisions.

Qualifications

• 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with HS diploma/equivalent
• U.S. Citizen required
• Ability to obtain Public Trust
• Experience with software requirement changes
• Experience with design and development of software systems
• Strong COBOL, JCL experience in a mainframe environment

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to create software across multiple functional areas and products
• Prioritize and allocate projects, products, and resources with architects and managers
• Participate in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of software products
• Direct hiring decisions and performance rewards as appropriate
• Plan and coordinate activities of multi-team or cross-functional organization
• Direct software development projects to ensure timely delivery and quality
• Develop project plans with goals, strategy, milestones, risks, and resource allocation
• Monitor technology trends and opportunities for new technologies
