Job summary

Corebridge Financial is seeking a Sr. Underwriting Consultant to assess medical and financial risk for individual life insurance applications, while supporting sales and maintaining customer-centric service. The role requires extensive underwriting experience and strong communication skills.

You will work remotely with a focus on high-value cases, collaborate across teams, and drive accurate, timely processing within authority limits. Eligible for a discretionary bonus per plan terms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of life underwriting experience with demonstrated competence and experience handling larger face amount cases.
• Required approval authority up to $5,000,000.
• FLMI, FALU and/or CLU designations preferred or progress toward these designations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex formal applications and informal quote applications with independent action within approval guidelines.
• Analyze complex information to reach comprehensive medical and financial assessments.
• Effectively manage change, defuse conflict and negotiate positive results.
• Take a cross-functional view of work processes and understand ramifications to other areas.
• Be organized and able to manage a large caseload.
• Demonstrate superior technical underwriting knowledge and skills.
• Provide training to internal and external customers on underwriting topics.
• Interact independently with a sophisticated field force dealing with an upscale market.
