The ideal candidate has 7+ years of Java experience, strong Spring Boot and REST API skills, and comfort owning technical design while guiding the team through challenging problems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle or Db2.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops complex Java applications, microservices and REST APIs.
• Creates technical designs and estimates work into tasks.
• Leads code reviews and enforces coding and security standards.
• Improves application performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Troubleshoots and resolves production issues.
• Mentors Java developers and supports their growth.
• Works with DevOps to improve build and deployment pipelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
