Job summary

Eliassen Group seeks a Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation electronic trading systems within a high-performing Trade Management Engineering group.

You will architect distributed, event-driven platforms optimized for low latency and high throughput, mentor engineers, and drive platform performance, scalability, and resilience. Remote, contract role with W2 benefits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software design and development experience.
• Expertise in Java, Python, and Linux.
• Deep experience with low latency messaging such as 29West or Kafka.
• Proficiency with time-series DBs like KDB+.
• Background in distributed, asynchronous, event-driven apps.
• Knowledge of FIX and capital markets systems a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop distributed, event-driven trading systems for low latency and high throughput.
• Design asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver end-to-end trading workflows.
• Lead performance tuning and optimization across the platform.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
• Support production and non-production environments including on-call rotations.
