Eliassen Group seeks a Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer to lead design and development of next-generation electronic trading systems. This remote, contract role focuses on low-latency, high-throughput platforms with event-driven architecture and distributed services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software design and development experience.
• Expertise in Java, Python, and Linux.
• Deep experience with low latency messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Proficiency in distributed, asynchronous, and event-driven applications.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets or Brokerage systems, especially order management.
• Familiarity with the FIX protocol and FIX engines.
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS or similar).
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop distributed, event-driven trading systems for low latency and high throughput.
• Design and implement asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams for end-to-end trading workflows.
• Lead performance tuning and optimization across the platform.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Support production and non-production environments, including on-call rotations.
