Eliassen Group is seeking a Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced trading systems in a remote-friendly environment. You will architect distributed, event-driven platforms and collaborate across teams to optimize performance, scalability, and resilience.

The role is a W2 contract with comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k matching). Requires 10+ years in software design, strong Java/Python/Linux expertise, and experience with low-latency

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software design and development experience.
• Expertise in Java, Python, and Linux.
• Deep experience with low latency messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Proficiency in time-series databases like KDB+.
• Background in building scalable, distributed, asynchronous, event-driven applications.
• Familiarity with Capital Markets or Brokerage systems and FIX protocol.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud deployments (AWS).
• Willingness to work on a W2 contract with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop distributed, event-driven trading systems for low latency and high throughput.
• Design asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver end-to-end trading workflows.
• Lead performance tuning and platform optimization efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Support production and non-production environments, including on-call rotations.
