Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Backend Developer (Java/Spring) to design, build, secure, and maintain enterprise Java services for transfer agency and fixed income processing platforms. You will work with architects, QA, and DevSecOps to deliver reliable backend capabilities.

The role supports a remote work arrangement in the United States with a focus on secure, high-volume processing, auditability, and compliance with FedRAMP High expectations.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of enterprise backend development experience.
• Expertise with Java 17+/Spring Boot/Spring Security/OAuth2/REST APIs.
• Hands-on Oracle SQL, Hibernate, and stored procedures.
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub/Bitbucket), Swagger/OpenAPI, Azure deployment, unit & API testing.
• Proficiency with JasperReports, Quartz, SOAP, CXF, JMeter, Dynatrace, Log4j, and secure SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java/Spring services for transfer registration, shareholder and accounts, and fixed income processing.
• Design and maintain REST APIs, service orchestration, batch processing, and database interactions.
• Ensure secure authentication, authorization, validation, secrets handling, encryption-aware integrations, and vulnerability remediation.
• Guarantee transactional integrity and auditable, high-volume processing.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, DevSecOps, and security teams to deliver reliable backend capabilities.
