Cognizant is seeking a Sr. Backend Developer (Java/Spring) to design, build, and secure enterprise Java services and APIs for transfer agency and fixed income processing platforms. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable backend capabilities.

The role emphasizes building batch processing, auditing, and orchestration, with a focus on FedRAMP High compliance and high-volume workloads. This remote US-based role offers flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of enterprise backend development experience.
• Strong expertise with Java 17 or later, Spring Boot, Spring Security, OAuth2, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL, Hibernate, and stored procedures.
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub or Bitbucket, Swagger/OpenAPI, Azure-based deployment patterns, unit testing, and API testing.
• Proficiency with reporting tools and monitoring/observability concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java and Spring-based services for core enterprise domains.
• Design and maintain REST APIs, service orchestration, batch processing, and database interactions.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and encryption-aware integrations.
• Ensure transactional integrity and high-volume processing resilience.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, DevSecOps, and security teams to deliver reliable backend capabilities.
