Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Sr. Backend Developer (Java/Spring) to design, build, and secure enterprise services for transfer agency and fixed income processing.

You will own backend components, APIs, and batch workflows while collaborating with architects, QA, DevSecOps, and security teams. You should have 8+ years of backend experience, deep Java 17+, Spring Boot/Security, Oracle SQL/Hibernate, and strong CI/CD expertise.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of enterprise backend development experience.
• Strong expertise with Java 17+ and Spring Boot/Spring Security.
• Experience with Oracle SQL, Hibernate, and stored procedures.
• CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub or Bitbucket, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Azure deployments.
• Proficiency with reporting/monitoring tools like JasperReports, Quartz, JMeter, Dynatrace, and Log4j.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java and Spring-based services for transfer registration and processing.
• Design and maintain REST APIs, batch processing, and database interactions.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and encryption-aware integrations.
• Ensure transactional integrity and auditability in high-volume workflows.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, DevSecOps, and security teams.
