Job summary

Maximus is seeking an experienced Delivery Leader to oversee the development, maintenance, testing, and implementation of a large-scale healthcare system for State Medicaid clients. You will partner with managers, analysts, developers, testers, and infrastructure to ensure compliant, high-quality solutions across multiple teams.

This fully remote role requires up to 25% travel and offers performance bonuses, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in software delivery with 5+ years in technical leadership or management roles.
Proven experience overseeing delivery for enterprise healthcare systems, preferably Medicaid-related.
Advanced knowledge of MS Project and other project management tools.
Strong understanding of SDLC, requirements gathering and verification, release and change management, and maintenance and defect remediation.

Responsibilities

Serve as the point of contact and client interface for project technology related issues.
Manage project expectations, evaluate project needs, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure program needs are met with respect to urgency and priority.
Develop trust, credibility, and strong client relationships; seek opportunities to add value to internal and external client initiatives.
Review all project deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy meet project, stakeholder, and contractual standards.
Execute all project management functions including work breakdown and cost estimation, scheduling, monitoring and tracking of progress against timetables and budgets, and staff assignment and development.
Lead and direct the delivery of application development, systems integration, infrastructure, and product installation/customization services ensuring adherence to lifecycle patterns, standards, and procedures.
Define and implement development plans for assigned projects.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
Ensure staff is knowledgeable on the applications and technologies in use and that the team follows processes and procedures.
Provide detailed direction during lifecycle stages including requirements analysis, testing, and programming support as needed.
Identify and assess new functional capabilities supporting engineering changes and follow-on work.
Identify, track, and communicate risks and issues with stakeholders and upper management.
Coordinate, prepare, and manage technical presentations and demonstrations for stakeholders.
Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of a COTS healthcare system serving Medicaid clients.
Ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable, and compliant solutions including enhancements and customer-specific configurations.
Provide direction and oversight for multiple teams through collaboration with other managers.
