Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead mission-critical infrastructure modernization projects for the U.S. Coast Guard. This remote role focuses on network tech refreshes, OOB management deployments, and legacy VSAT transitions across USCG sites, with PMO leadership responsibilities.

You will coordinate with USCG stakeholders, engineers, field technicians, and vendors, managing scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk while ensuring regulatory compliance and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of IT project management experience.
• PMP or equivalent federal PM certification.
• Experience managing large-scale federal contracts or enterprise IT deployments (DoD/DHS/USCG preferred).
• Experience deploying OOB management architectures for remote network resilience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to brief executives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PMO tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple parallel IT infrastructure projects from initiation through closure.
• Define scope, WBS, schedules, and manage critical paths.
• Identify and mitigate risks; develop contingency plans to minimize downtime.
• Serve as primary contact for USCG leadership, engineers, and vendors.
• Manage budgets and procurement for global network hardware and services.
• Coordinate tasks across network engineers, field technicians, and security teams.
• Quality-check deliverables and MSRs; oversee documentation and change tickets.
• Drive best practices and align deployments with federal standards.
