Job summary

InterVarsity Press is seeking a Senior Interim Leadership Associate to provide interim leadership and strategic direction for campus ministry in a remote USA setting. The role focuses on sustaining ministry during transitions, developing staff, and aligning with national leadership and InterVarsity’s mission.

You will lead ministry teams, supervise staff, and collaborate with donors and organizational leaders to advance outreach, training, and campus impact.

Qualifications

• Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement).
• Abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct.
• Believe and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper.
• Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s Women in Ministry Statement of Affiliation.
• Ongoing call to InterVarsity and its mission.
• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
• Prior experience with InterVarsity strongly preferred
• Prior experience at the Divisional Director position or above (or the equivalent in outside organizations)
• At least 5 years experience supervising teams, people development, and coaching strongly preferred
• Strong ministry skills (including the ability to communicate spiritual vision, teach spiritual and biblical principles, plan ministry programs, and spiritually disciple, coach and mentor)
• Proven ability to work well with others and the ability to develop a team of campus ministers.
• Affirmation of ongoing call to ministry service with InterVarsity and its mission
• Strong interpersonal skills (including ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty)
• Evidence the characteristics of a life-long learner Experience in management and people development.
• Willing to receive ongoing training
• Ability to contribute to an open and supportive relationship with team members
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment

Responsibilities

• Lead an assigned ministry team to grow as a community and plan vision and strategy for campus ministry relationships.
• Provide interim leadership to ensure campus ministry continues without interruption.
• Coordinate with national leaders to develop staff training and ministry programs.
• Engage donors, fund development, and partner effectively with field ministries to support the program.
• Support regional and national collaboration to advance InterVarsity’s mission on campuses.
• Oversee recruiting and placement of staff as needed in interim assignments.
