Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a Remote HIM Senior Inpatient Coder to maintain high-quality ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for inpatient diagnoses and procedures. You will review clinical documentation to sustain a 95% accuracy rate and abstract data into Client EMR systems, ensuring proper billing and reduced denials.

Collaborating with the HIM team and Clinical Documentation Specialists, you will help ensure complete physician documentation and support in other departmental areas as needed, while maintaining

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years inpatient coding experience with 95% accuracy or higher.
• Deep knowledge of ICD-10-CM / PCS coding with MS-DRG / APR-DRG assignments.
• Familiarity with Epic and other EHR systems; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM / PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Review clinical documentation to generate MS-DRG / APR-DRG assignments.
• Extract and abstract required information into the EMR.
• Validate admit orders and discharge dispositions.
• Manage and resolve accounts in Epic Work Queues and finalize corrections.
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists on documentation quality.
• Uphold HIPAA standards and maintain confidentiality.
