Job summary

Ascend Technologies is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Systems Engineer to provide escalated support and maintain client environments in a fully remote role.

The position involves working on project initiatives, upgrades to existing infrastructure, and deployment of new technologies. You will serve as an escalation point for the NOC, communicate with clients, and manage Windows servers in VMware/Hyper-V environments, with cloud experience in Azure/AWS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of client-facing experience.
• VMware certifications (VCP/VCAP) are required.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting experience.
• Ability to perform off-hours changes and participate in on-call rotations.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, networking, and system integrations.
• Experience with Windows server administration, backup and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for the Ascend Technologies Network Operations Center (NOC) and support engineers.
• Communicate effectively with clients and assist non-technical users remotely.
• Operate and maintain Windows servers in a virtualized environment (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Work with Azure and AWS environments.
• Support high-availability and disaster recovery configurations.
• Troubleshoot server, network, and certificate-related issues to root cause.
