Job summary

ASCENDING is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer/Cloud SME to lead the transformation of a large monolithic system into a resilient, cloud-native architecture. The role requires deep expertise in AWS and Azure, Kubernetes, and cloud networking to ensure scalability, reliability, and security across platforms.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive DevOps practices, and stay ahead of industry trends to maintain a secure, highly available infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• 7+ years in rearchitecting large monoliths to cloud-native architectures.
• Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) hands‑on experience.
• Strong cloud networking design and problem solving.
• Expertise with Terraform for IaC deployment and management.
• Knowledge of container security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical rearchitecture from monolith to cloud-native microservices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and Product to define system architecture using DDD.
• Evaluate technologies and recommend cloud services and tools for infrastructure.
• Drive DevOps adoption and CI/CD practices across the lifecycle.
