Job summary

1Password is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to lead IAM initiatives, principally focusing on Okta and identity workflows across our remote-friendly environment. You will shape identity strategies, build secure integrations, and expand AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency and security for teams deploying SaaS and AI tools.

This remote role requires hands-on IT engineering experience, strong collaboration with IT and Security, and a commitment to auditable, scalable identity solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant IT engineering or systems administration experience.
• Experience administering an IdP (Okta or similar) in production.
• Proficiency with SAML, OIDC and SCIM.
• REST APIs and scripting in Python and Bash.
• IaC and Git-based workflows.
• Experience applying AI to improve workflows.
• Familiarity with Terraform and 1Password Enterprise, Device Trust, or SOC 2/ISO audits.

Responsibilities

• Operate and enhance Okta tenant configuration and lifecycle management.
• Lead IAM initiatives from concept through rollout.
• Design durable integrations using SAML, OIDC, SCIM and APIs.
• Simplify access requests and lifecycle processes.
• Collaborate with IT, Security and Device Infrastructure on rollouts and audits.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide guidance on IAM questions.
