Job summary

Soteria LLC, based in Charleston, SC, seeks a Senior Security Advisor to guide clients through complex risk and compliance programs. You will lead engagements, craft action plans, develop SSPs, and deliver polished, timely findings to executives, boards, and stakeholders.

The role demands deep GRC expertise, strong judgement, and the ability to mentor junior staff, while maintaining relationships, driving improvements, and ensuring client success across remote engagements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry experience in cybersecurity.
• Prior experience in a cybersecurity consulting role.
• Prior leadership in cybersecurity.
• Experience authoring System Security Plans and RMF/ATO processes.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CMMC, GDPR, etc.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to understand security needs and develop engagement plans.
• Lead and perform security assessments to identify gaps in clients' security programs.
• Develop System Security Plans (SSPs) end-to-end, including control selection and documentation.
• Identify regulatory requirements and develop strategic compliance plans.
• Document and present findings to C-suite and board-level executives.
• Mentor junior advisors and manage multiple engagements.
• Support business development from initial call to contract execution.
