Job summary

Percona is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the PMM team in a remote, full-time capacity. You will build the next generation of Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) with a focus on backend services, APIs, and database integrations in Go.

You will work with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, ClickHouse, and related observability tooling, advancing PMM toward automated, agentic workflows and AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience with production Go.
• Experience designing, building, and documenting APIs.
• Knowledge of concurrency and distributed systems.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, metrics, logging, or tracing.
• Fluent English and ability to work in a fully remote team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reliable, scalable backend services and APIs in Go.
• Build features for monitoring and management of database environments.
• Work with OpenTelemetry signals including metrics, logs, and traces.
• Develop integrations with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
• Work with containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infra.
• Take ownership of complex features from design to delivery.
• Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
• Improve automated testing, CI/CD, and developer tooling.
• Explore AI-assisted development and automation in workflows.
• Contribute to PMM as an open-source project with the community.
