Job summary

Synergy is seeking a highly qualified GIS Developer to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG). You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise web and desktop applications across the full software development lifecycle.

Collaborate with a cross-functional Agile team and translate client requirements into reliable, secure solutions. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining applications; contributing to architecture decisions; and gathering

Qualifications

• Experience with a modern frontend framework (Angular preferred).
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Node.js with RESTful API design experience.
• Experience using an ORM (TypeORM preferred).
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
• Experience writing unit tests (Jest, Jasmine/Karma, Mocha).
• Git, Jira, Jenkins, Bitbucket or equivalent tools; familiarity with Agile.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and prompting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications across the full SDLC.
• Contribute to technical design decisions, architecture discussions, and solution planning.
• Gather, clarify, communicate, and document requirements from clients and stakeholders.
• Write clean, testable, well-documented code and participate in peer code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects and performance issues in production and pre-production.
• Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and estimation.
