Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for a fully remote role. You will contribute to major projects across South Africa, with a focus on Paarl and the Western Cape. Expertise in soil/rock mechanics and foundation design is essential.

Lead remote investigations, conduct advanced analyses, and prepare detailed reports and recommendations. Collaborate digitally with teams, review junior/consultant work, and ensure compliance with SANS and international standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng. mandatory.
• 9+ years of geotechnical design and analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and foundation engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead remote geotechnical investigations and interpret field/lab data.
• Perform advanced analyses for foundations, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Develop detailed reports, risk assessments, and recommendations.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams via digital platforms.
• Review designs/reports by junior engineers or external consultants.
• Use geotechnical modeling software to simulate ground behavior.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS and international standards.
