Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join a global remote team focused on mining projects. The role emphasizes analysis of soil and rock mechanics, design recommendations for open pits, tailings dams, and waste dumps, and collaboration with cross-functional teams from a remote location.

Candidates should have 8+ years in geotechnical or mining engineering, advanced degrees, and proficiency with FLAC, Slide, and GeoStudio.

Qualifications

Master's or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated excellence in geotechnical analysis and reporting.
Strong collaboration and communication skills for remote teams.

Responsibilities

Perform geotechnical investigations and data interpretation.
Conduct stability analyses for pits, tailings, and waste dumps.
Develop design recommendations for mining structures and support systems.
Monitor ground conditions and interpret monitoring data.
Prepare geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with remote and on-site teams to integrate geotechnical considerations.
