Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Emerging Products team. You will work primarily on backend systems in Java/Kotlin with React/TypeScript frontend, shaping data-driven products from the ground up.

The role involves building scalable services, API design, and delivering dashboards and workflows, with opportunities to impact enterprise-scale deployments. Hybrid remote options and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years of software development experience building production applications, with strong experience in Java.
• 4+ years of experience with highly scalable software systems.
• Strong understanding of OOP design principles, data structures, and object-oriented design.
• Knowledge of API best practices and experience developing REST/GraphQL services; gRPC is a plus.
• Comfortable writing, analyzing, and troubleshooting SQL with relational databases.
• Expert knowledge of software quality and testing practices, including unit, integration, API, and front-end testing.
• 2+ years of experience with React and modern front-end development.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals and frontend architecture understanding.
• Strong HTML/CSS knowledge and accessibility awareness.
• Experience building reusable React components and debugging frontend issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the API and serving layer powering data-intensive product experiences using REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Develop scalable backend services using Java and Kotlin with API-first architecture, performance, reliability, and extensibility.
• Build data-driven product experiences turning large data volumes into insights, dashboards, and workflows.
• Design and optimize data access across APIs, relational databases, caching, and analytical sources for enterprise workloads.
• Build and maintain React/TypeScript user interfaces including dashboards, forms, and workflows.
• Establish clear contracts between frontend, APIs, and backend services.
• Participate in architecture/design reviews to scale products from early development to GA.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across backend and frontend components.
• Troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, traces, and browser debugging; instrument apps with telemetry.
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate development and productivity.
• Contribute to code reviews and document technical decisions and cross-team initiatives.
• Take ownership of features end-to-end from design to deployment and monitoring.
