Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced Sr. Full-Stack Engineer to take ideas from prototype to production for an initial cohort of customers.

You’ll build end-to-end product capabilities across web experiences and cloud services, applying strong engineering judgment to deliver secure, scalable solutions. You will leverage AI agents and modern developer tooling to accelerate prototyping, testing, and iteration while maintaining quality, privacy, and performance.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of full-stack web applications shipped to production.
• Strong front-end engineering skills with modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Next.js preferred) and scalable design systems.
• Strong backend engineering skills in API design, authentication/authorization, and multitechnology stacks (.NET, Node.js, Python).
• Hands-on expertise bootstrapping AWS, including serverless or container-based deployments and cost controls.
• Experience with microservices and API-first architectures, including CI/CD pipelines and observability.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship end-to-end product experiences across modern web apps, from concept to production release.
• Prototype concepts rapidly, validate feasibility and user value, and produce secure, scalable services for initial customers.
• Design and manage AI-powered capabilities across retrieval, context shaping, and personalization (RAG, filtering).
• Develop API-first, versioned REST microservices exposed across experiences.
• Leverage AI agents and tooling to speed up development workflows (scaffolding, code generation, testing).
• Create architecture briefs, run experiments, and document tradeoffs.
