Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Trust and Safety to coordinate cross-functional fraud and abuse workstreams. You will work with T&S engineers to understand trends, convert technical requirements into business needs, and drive defenses in partnership with Engineering and Product.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled risk identification, collaboration with Legal, Finance, and other teams, and a strong ownership mindset to keep GitLab secure in a remote, all-remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical program management or trust & safety roles.
• Experience driving cross-functional fixes without direct authority.
• Knowledge of fraud patterns (account takeover, payment fraud, bot signups).
• Technical fluency with web apps, APIs, identity, and billing systems.
• Clear written communication for asynchronous, all-remote environments.
• Sound judgement balancing fraud risk with user experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-functional fraud and abuse prevention workstreams with T&S, Eng, Product, Legal, and Finance.
• Translate abuse trends into defense measures and drive projects to completion.
• Own and prioritize improvements to defenses with engineering and product teams.
• Define metrics for abuse and fraud exposure and report outcomes to leadership.
• Leverage AI to identify and triage fraud risks across GitLab.
• Collaborate with Finance on payment fraud controls and chargebacks.
• Balance fraud risk with user friction for legitimate customers.
• Maintain ownership mindset and bias for action to keep GitLab secure.
