Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal government customers, owning architecture and end-to-end delivery of data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

This role blends engineering with business impact, requiring travel to customer sites and strong customer empathy. The ideal candidate brings heavy data engineering and software development experience, deep Spark knowledge, and a track record delivering production-grade systems in complex enterprise

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Fluency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments; MLOps knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design decisions for customer data and AI solutions.
• Deliver production-grade systems, reference architectures, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Eng, Product, and Developer Relations to shape delivery across accounts.
• Embed with customer teams to ensure value realization and adoption.
