Job summary

YA Group seeks a Senior Forensic Consultant to lead premises liability investigations, perform site inspections, and develop expert opinions for litigation. The role emphasizes high-level analysis, client engagement, and business development in a remote-capable environment with substantial travel.

Ideal candidates bring PE/CSP or advanced degrees and have a strong track record in deposition/testimony and industry leadership. Remote work is offered with broad travel across major US metros.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Safety Sciences, Human Factors, Occupational Safety, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in premises liability investigations or forensic consulting.
• Experience evaluating building codes, regulations, standards, and safety practices.
• Experience conducting slip, trip, and fall investigations and developing technical opinions.
• Experience with walkway friction testing and slip resistance evaluations.
• Experience using 3D scanning, photogrammetry, or similar documentation technologies.
• Strong communication skills for attorney, client, and stakeholder engagement.
• Deposition and/or trial testimony experience is a plus.
• Established business development and client-relations abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic investigations involving premises liability claims and litigation.
• Evaluate site conditions, building features, maintenance practices, and environmental factors related to incident causation.
• Perform and oversee site inspections, scene documentation, and evidence collection.
• Analyze slip, trip, and fall incidents and develop opinions on causation and liability.
• Conduct walkway friction testing and slip resistance evaluations.
• Research and apply relevant building codes, safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
• Utilize 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and other forensic tech to document locations.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and expert materials; provide deposition/testimony as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, biomechanics, safety, and forensic disciplines.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise.
• Deliver presentations and thought leadership to clients and industry groups.
• Support business development through networking and industry involvement.
• Contribute to growth of YA Group's forensic consulting practice.
