Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher.
10+ years of professional FOIA experience.
Experience supporting FOIA case processing, disclosure reviews, records redaction, appeals, litigation, or related info-access work.
Knowledge of FOIA Act, Privacy Act, HIPAA, OPEN Government Act, FOIA Improvement Act and related laws.
Familiarity with case-management, SharePoint, Box, and eDiscovery tools.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze records responsive to FOIA requests, backlogged cases, appeals, and litigation using approved systems.
Apply FOIA exemptions using independent judgment in line with federal laws and agency policies.
Coordinate with government FOIA staff, records custodians, and requesters to clarify scope and reach resolutions.
Prepare records for release with redactions and Bates numbering when applicable.
Support appeals and litigation matters, including Relativity review and Vaughn-index support.
Develop and implement search terms in designated eDiscovery systems and document activity.
