Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions seeks a Senior Financial Accountant to provide corporate-level accounting support across multiple states. You will assist in project cost accounting, financial statement prep, and month-end closings while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

The role emphasizes lease accounting per ASC 842, collaboration with finance and operations, and thorough data analysis to enhance financial reporting accuracy and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior accounting function.
• Lease accounting experience per ASC 842.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions purchase accounting.
• ERP knowledge; MS Dynamics 365 preferred.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close knowledge.
• GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze accounting records and systems for accuracy and integrity.
• Collect and analyze data to detect control deficiencies and non-compliance.
• Ensure ASC 842 lease accounting compliance and related journal entries.
• Report asset utilization and audit results to management; suggest improvements.
• Review accounts for discrepancies and perform reconciliations.
• Analyze operations, trends, costs, and revenues to project financials.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits; support closing processes.
