Job summary

Terawatt Infrastructure is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to lead construction, commissioning, energization, and ongoing operation of EV charging sites across North America. You will evaluate field conditions, manage FAT/acceptance testing, and coordinate with contractors and AHJs.

Travel 60%+ to active sites is required. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in electrical construction or startup, and strong knowledge of NEC/UL/IEEE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of field experience with electrical construction, commissioning, or startup of medium- and low-voltage systems.
• Experience reading and field-verifying Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs) and Three-Line Diagrams.
• Willingness to travel 60%+ to active sites.
• Valid driver's license and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate field conditions against approved diagrams and review milestones with senior engineering.
• Serve as the field representative during FAT and functional testing of OFE equipment including switchgear and transformers.
• Assess site energization readiness and make go/no-go engineering calls.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and hardware issues on active sites with Field Service.
• Analyze field changes and determine need for design revision or documentation only.
• Ensure smooth commissioning-to-operations handoff with proper documentation and warranties.
• Interpret NEC, UL, IEEE, and local codes during field reviews.
• Manage field engineering activity across multiple sites and report progress and risks.
