Job summary

Terawatt Infrastructure is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to serve as the field technical lead for construction, commissioning, energization, and operation of EV charging sites across North America. You will evaluate field inspections against design intent and make real-time technical decisions with contractors and AHJs.

You will work with senior engineers, ensure commissioning-to-operations handoff, and navigate NEC/IEEE and local codes while traveling frequently to active sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of field experience with electrical construction, commissioning, or startup of MV/LV systems.
• Background in electrical engineering or related field experience.
• Knowledge of at least two areas: DC fast EV charging infra, power electronics, clean energy, or substations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate field conditions against diagrams, and determine deviations or design changes.
• Represent during FAT and testing of OFE equipment and EVSE.
• Assess energization readiness and make go/no-go decisions with stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues on active sites with Field Service.
• Ensure handoff to operations with complete documentation and warranties.
• Interpret NEC/UL/IEEE and local codes during field reviews.
• Manage field engineering across multiple sites and report progress.
