Job summary

Qcells USA Corp is seeking a Senior Project Design Engineer in Houston, TX, with a remote work schedule and travel up to 30%. You will lead front-end engineering for utility-scale PV and BESS projects, guiding conceptual design, equipment selection, and design handoffs to EPC teams.

You will collaborate with cross-functional groups, review data, and optimize site utilization while ensuring compliance with codes and standards. PE or EIT preferred, with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Renewable Energy or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional engineering experience in solar, with utility-scale PV design.
• Experience with conceptual/preliminary FEED design for utility-scale PV projects.
• Familiarity with PV site layouts, major equipment, and design constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end engineering activities from intake through conceptual design and handoff.
• Review data rooms, requirements, site info, surveys, interconnection, and docs to identify constraints and risks.
• Design conceptual site layouts, block designs, equipment arrangements, and siting.
