Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a security certifications engineer for a remote role. You will support Common Criteria, FIPS, and DoDIN programs across HPE Networking, coordinating with accredited labs and internal teams from anywhere in the United States.

You will generate documentation, advise developers and QA on certification processes, monitor government standards, and help maintain cryptographic modules. U.S. citizens or green card holders preferred; light travel may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• Background in software engineering including C/C++, Python and/or Golang.
• Ability to read and understand source code in C is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with cryptographic modules.
• Minimum 3 years with certification schemes (Common Criteria, FIPS, DoDIN).
• Minimum 4 years in a role handling government certifications or security testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of Common Criteria, FIPS, and DoDIN certifications across all HPE Networking product lines.
• Operate as a representative of HPE Networking with accredited labs during evaluation.
• Assist in generating documentation (e.g., FIPS security policies, CC security targets).
• Provide consulting and guidance to developers and QA on certification processes.
• Attend scheduled meetings with labs and engineering/QA to keep milestones on track.
• Communicate gaps identified by labs to engineering/product teams for remediation.
• Monitor government standards and alert management when changes may impact releases.
• Assist in development and maintenance of FIPS compliant cryptographic modules.
