Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Sr. Federal Certification Engineer to work primarily from home as a remote/teleworker. The role focuses on executing Common Criteria, FIPS, and DoDIN certifications for HPE Networking products and coordinating with accredited labs.

Qualified candidates have a BS in a technical field, strong C/C++, Python, or Golang skills, and several years of experience with cryptographic modules and government certification schemes. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (MS preferred).
• Background in software engineering including C/C++, Python and/or Golang; ability to read C source code.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with cryptographic modules in a technical capacity.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with certification schemes, including Common Criteria, FIPS, DoDIN.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in roles handling government certifications or security testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing Common Criteria, FIPS, and DoDIN certifications across HPE Networking product lines.
• Represent HPE Networking with accredited labs during evaluation processes.
• Generate or edit documentation (FIPS security policies, CC security targets).
• Provide consulting to developers and QA on certification processes.
• Attend regular meetings with labs and engineering/QA to track milestones.
• Communicate gaps found by labs to engineering and product teams to ensure remediation.
• Monitor government standards and notify management of changes affecting releases.
• Assist in development, compliance, and maintenance of FIPS cryptographic modules.
