Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced FEA Engineer to support the design and development of advanced reactor systems through rigorous finite element analysis and structural evaluations. You will assess pressure-retaining components, identify failure modes, and generate clear documentation for multidisciplinary teams.

You will apply DBA methods per ASME VIII Division 2, perform static and transient analyses, and collaborate across engineering disciplines to optimize designs while ensuring code

Qualifications

• Extensive experience performing static structural and transient mechanical analyses.
• Experience applying Design-by-Analysis per ASME VIII Division 2.
• Ability to evaluate plastic collapse, buckling, ratcheting, fatigue, and creep in pressure-retaining components.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics and pressure vessel design.
• Proficient in static and transient FEA.

Responsibilities

• Perform static structural and transient FEA for pressure-retaining components.
• Conduct DBA evaluations per ASME VIII Division 2.
• Evaluate structural integrity and potential failure modes.
• Develop engineering calculations and reports to justify design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate analysis into design.
