Job summary

MasTec Civil in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Estimator with extensive heavy civil estimating and field experience to drive bid strategy for roadways and bridges. You will work on design-build and design-bid-build projects, manage budgets, and coordinate with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.

The role requires mentoring peers, teaching engineers, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of DOT standards and safety practices. MasTec emphasizes growth and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of estimating experience in Heavy Civil.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience in roadways and bridges.
• Experience with design-build, design-bid-build, Lump Sum contracts.
• Contract experience with DOT/turnpike, cities/counties, airport authority.

Responsibilities

• Understand bid items, basis of estimate, and identify errors in plans and specs.
• Build green sheet estimates, breakdown activity structure, schedule and risk analysis.
• Create job budgets for awarded contracts.
• Lead estimating discussions with company executives.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes.
• Review estimating reports and monitor unit costs and indicators.
• Assist pre-bid meetings and bid submittals.
