Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec company, is seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong heavy civil background to support highway and roadway projects. The role focuses on accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for earthwork, underground utilities, paving and concrete work.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil estimating, DOT experience preferred, and may work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement with IN/IL offices. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience.
• Extensive earthwork and underground experience; PCC paving and concrete knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret contract documents to provide accurate, detailed cost estimates.
• Develop preliminary budgets and itemized summaries for go/no-go decisions.
• Identify issues and develop risk exposure summaries with cost impacts.
• Propose value engineering strategies and innovative estimation approaches.
• Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Perform quantity takeoff and schedule bid activities with Operations.
• Present complete estimates for management review and bids.
