Job summary

Atlassian in San Francisco is seeking a Principal Enterprise Security Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority across corporate architecture, SaaS platforms, and workforce technologies. You will drive the long-term vision, design controls, and pave secure paths that protect assets while enabling business agility at scale.

You will lead strategic guidance on security best practices, review enterprise technology initiatives, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership experience in architecture.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security architecture (AWS, GCP) and SaaS ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, endpoint security, data protection, network segmentation, and zero trust.
• Excellent communication skills for executives and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise security architecture including endpoint, identity, network, and data.
• Lead architectural reviews of major initiatives (AI adoption, zero trust modernization, vendor onboarding).
• Establish architectural controls and perform maturity assessments.
