Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a Senior Incident Response Analyst to lead security incidents across our corporate and cloud environments. You will hunt for signs of compromise, coordinate cross-functional responses, and develop automated playbooks to improve detection and remediation capabilities.

You will collaborate with security engineering, threat intelligence, and product teams to strengthen Atlassian’s security posture while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security domains such as Operations, Incident Response, Detection Engineering, Threat Research, or Engineering.
• Experience responding to incidents and conducting investigations.
• Fluency in modern programming languages (Python, Ruby, Java, or Go) or scripting for security tasks.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Act as escalation point for security incidents with stakeholders and provide updates to drive resolution.
• Investigate and analyze log data from security events across multiple sources to identify signs of compromise and assess impact.
• Conduct post-incident reviews to analyze root cause and improve processes.
• Participate in on-call roster for security incident response.
• Deliver technical solutions to mitigate incidents and enhance response capabilities.
• Advocate for security best practices and secure coding standards across the organization.
• Perform threat hunts to identify new attack vectors and countermeasures.
• Research threat actor tactics and tooling to inform investigations and responses.
• Build and maintain tools to automate response processes.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Lead evidence collection and forensic analysis during incidents.
• Conduct tabletop exercises to test incident response readiness.
