Job summary

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Payment Platform. You will lead the engineering organization responsible for the payment flow and the network connecting Coinbase to the global financial system.

You’ll build and scale multiple engineering teams, set the technical vision for payment infrastructure, and partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, and Engineering leadership to drive multi-quarter roadmaps for how money moves in and out

Qualifications

10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years of engineering management experience, including 2+ years managing managers and scaling multi-team organizations.
Proven track record delivering distributed payment systems or high-volume transactional platforms.
Deep understanding of rails such as ACH, cards, SEPA, or wire transfers.
Experience with regulated environments and cross-functional partnerships with Risk, Compliance, Finance.
Utilizes generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

Build, scale, and lead a multi-team engineering organization across Payment Platform.
Define the technical vision and architectural strategy for Payment Platform infrastructure.
Partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, and Engineering leadership to shape multi-quarter roadmaps.
Own engineering quality and operational excellence across Payment Platform.
Drive talent strategy and develop next-gen engineering leaders.
