Job summary

NerdWallet, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Partner Data Ingestion team. You will lead revenue-critical ingestion platforms, drive multi-vertical migrations, and partner with Finance, Product, and Business Development to ensure accurate, auditable revenue data.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• 5+ years as the people manager of an engineering team.
• Proven success owning production data pipelines or an ingestion platform where correctness is the product, such as revenue, billing, or payments, ideally in FinTech or another regulated industry.
• Experience leading a migration from a legacy system to a new platform while both are still in production.
• Strong SQL and Python, and working knowledge of Snowflake and AWS.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration (Airflow, Step Functions, or similar), a relational database such as Postgres, and pipelines that are idempotent, observable, and safe to rerun.
• Working knowledge of data-quality practice: reconciliation, anomaly review, and how to investigate a number that does not match its source.
• Experience partnering with finance, business development, or other non-engineering stakeholders on data they use to make money decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to coach engineers at different levels, including senior and staff engineers, with clear, actionable feedback.
• Experience balancing delivery dates with technical quality on systems that cannot silently drop or double-count data.
• A track record of using automation, including AI-assisted development, to raise a team's throughput.
• Strong written communication when explaining discrepancies and decisions to people outside engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue-accurate ingestion pipelines and the pricing logic that reconciles partner data with Finance.
• Lead the migration of verticals and partners from legacy ingestion to a modern platform with new connectors to partner APIs.
• Coordinate with Business Development, Finance, Product, and engineering teams to sequence migrations and manage tradeoffs between speed and correctness.
• Manage sprint planning, project timelines, and delivery commitments to ensure predictable, high-quality execution.
• Promote AI-assisted development to raise throughput while maintaining human review on revenue-impacting changes.
• Guide technical decisions on pipeline design, data modeling, and evolving pricing logic.
• Maintain software fundamentals: code review, testing, documentation, and operability of daily jobs.
• Identify and mitigate delivery risks early and escalate when needed to avoid revenue misses.
• Keep ingestion reliable with data freshness, completeness, and clear ownership when discrepancies arise.
• Coach engineers across levels with clear, actionable feedback.
